One of the best Tertiary Institutions in Ghana,University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) which was established by an individual but now fully owned and funded by the government of Ghana. University of Professional Studies, Accra, (UPSA) was once called Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), it was founded in the year 1965 by education enthusiast Nana Opoku Ampomah I, the paramount chief Amoafo Bekwai in the Ashanti region. Nana is known in private life as Joseph Opoku Ampomah . He was born on 28th, August 1928 at Bekwai. He started his basic education at Bekwai Methodist Mission School. He furthered his education to London Pithman Scotland Institute, Kumasi for his Elementary certificate. Nana bagged his bachelor of Science Degree from University of Ghana, Legon. After his Bachelor Degree he was employed as a Journalist at the editorial departme
