One of the best Tertiary Institutions in Ghana,University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) which was established by an individual but now  fully owned and funded by the government of Ghana. University of Professional  Studies, Accra, (UPSA) was once called Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), it was founded in the year 1965 by education  enthusiast Nana Opoku Ampomah I, the paramount chief Amoafo Bekwai in the Ashanti region. Nana is known in private life as Joseph Opoku Ampomah . He was born on 28th, August 1928 at Bekwai. He started his basic education at Bekwai Methodist Mission School. He furthered his education to London Pithman Scotland Institute, Kumasi for his Elementary certificate. Nana bagged his bachelor of Science Degree from University of Ghana, Legon.  Biography of John Evans Fiifi Atta- Mills He was born on 21st July,1944 in Tarkwa in th the Western region of Ghana but hails from Ekumfi Otuam in the Central region. He attended Achimota Secondary school where he obtained his 'O' and 'A' Levels between 1957-63. He attended University of Ghana, faculty of Law,Legon and obtained his LLB,1963-66.Ghana School of Law, Professional Certificate in Law 1967.London school of Economics,L.L M,1968.  Mirriam Ewurama Addy was born on 7th April,1942 to Mr Joseph Cole and Angelina Kwofie in Nkawkaw in the eastern region of Ghana. She attended St.Monica's Secondary School for his “O”level and “A” level certificate from January 1956 to June 1960.She also attended Holy Girls School in Cape Coast and University of Penislavania Today in history,14th January 2014, Mirriam Ewurama Addy the first quiz mistress of national Science and Maths Quiz which was first held in 1993.She was the quiz mistress from from 1993 to 2003 after Mrs Prophesor Elsie Effah Kaufman took over. She was also the first woman Prophesor of science from the Premier University in Ghana that’s University of Ghana. She is considered as one of the prominent Ghanaian women who has made a great impact in the history of science education in Ghana. He died at the age of 72 at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in 2004. May her soul rest in perfect peace 🙏

He was inaugurated on 7 January 2009, having defeated the ruling party candidate Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2008 election. Professor John Evans Atta Mills was born on July 21st, 1944, at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and hails from Ekumfi Otuam in the Mfantsiman East Constituency of the Central Region. He launched a lifelong interest in acquiring knowledge at Achimota Secondary School, where he obtained his General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level in 1963. To further his education, he attended the University of Ghana, Legon, where he received a bachelor’s degree and professional certificate in Law (1967). While earning a PhD in Law from the prestigious School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, John Evans Atta Mills was selected as a Fulbright scholar at the equally prestigious Stanford L
